- The Messiah is hard at work.
- Have you ever pondered, what is the Messiah's job?
- John 1:29-36
- John the Baptist believed that the Messiah's job was to remove sin from the world.
Yet, the world is still quite full of sin today. The Messiah still has work do be done.
- What is sin anyway?
- The King James translation more clearly states, "Sin is the transgression of the law.
- Transgression of what law?
- Matthew 19:16-26
- The Messiah was referring to the 10 commandents, wasn't he?
- Some claim that because they LOVE Jesus and their nieghbors that they don't have to worry about those burdensome 10 commandments.
They claim if they keep 8 or 9 of the commandments then they are not sinners.
They tell you that they don't need any works, because Christ did it all for them.
- Anyone in here, ever heard anyone proclaiming to be a Christian say things like that? I have.
- Does scripture really teach that?
- James 2:8-10
- The Apostle James is not talking about the 10 Commandments here is he?
- James 2:11-20
- Scripture is very clear on this subject.
We are supposed to be removing sin from our lives.
- The Days of Unleavened Bread picture God's people coming out of slavery.
- Are you a slave?
- Some claim these Old Testament Holy Days have no relevence for Christians today.
Afterall, we live in America, the home of the brave and the FREE.
- We have never been in bondage to anyone.
Hmmm, now where have I heard that stated in the bible?
Could it be in the New Testament?
- John 8:31-33
- So what was the Messiah talking about?
Is being made free important for a Christian?
- John 8:34-36
- The Holy Days of God are not outdated and burdensome that only have relevance for the past.
The Holy Days of God are important for Christians today and that is why you are here today, isn't it?
- We have all been slaves to sin.
- Romans 3:19-30
- So is it faith alone, so we can just forget about the law of God?
- Romans 3:31
- Now how easy would it be for someone to leave that last scripture off,
if they were trying to prove something different?
- Brethren, that's why we need to be very careful that we get the full context
of scriptures when someone quotes them to us.
- God is not freeing us from sin, so that we can continue in sin.
God is freeing us from sin, so we will STOP sinning!
- Does God expect us as Christians to STOP sinning?
- John 5:1-14
- John 8:2-11
- Notice the Messiah didn't say,
Just pronounce the name of JESUS and you shall be saved!
- Wasn't this the perfect opportunity for him to save this woman, if that is all there is to it?
- Notice the Messiah also didn't say,
Just pronounce the name of Yahweh and Yahshua and you shall be saved!
- What is more important to God, pronouncing his name correctly or keeping his laws?
- Matthew 7:15-23
- What is iniquity? The New King James translates this lawlessness.
- Those who don't believe in keeping the law are in for a real bad surprise when the Messiah returns,
aren't they?
- Remember, the Messiah's job is to remove sin from the world.
- Is God's law a burden that we no longer need to keep?
- Anyone in here ever heard someone proclaiming to be a Christian state that,
"God's Law is a burden? I have.
- Does scripture state God's law is a burden?
- 1 John 5:2-3
- The New King James version states even more clearly,
"The commandments are not burdensom."
- Some traditional Christians like to tell us,
- "The bible says, 'If I love my neighbor, then I have fulfilled the law.'
therefore I don't have to worry about keeping that burdensom law."
- Anyone ever hear someone say that? I have.
- Imagine traditional Christian Ministers confronting the Messiah with this today.
- It is written in Romans 13:8 - He who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law."
- How do you think the Messiah would respond to that?
- I think he would probably say, 'It is also written in Romans 13 - For the commandments,
"You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal,"
"You shall not give false testimony," "You shall not covet,"
and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely,
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love doesn't harm a neighbor.
Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.'
- Now let us be like the Bereans and look it up.
- Romans 13:8-10
- If you think you can commit adultery with my wife, steal from me, and then murder me,
and love me at the same time, then YOU are an idiot, that does not know them meaning of the word love.
- God's law shows us how to love God and our neighbor.
By keeping God's law we show God we love him and our neigbors
and by breaking God's law we show God we do not love him or our neighbor.
- Matthew 22:35-40
- The New King James translates verse 40:
"On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
- If all sin were totally removed from the world, all of the world's problems would disappear.
- How is the Messiah going to remove ALL sin from the world?
- Revelation 1:4-6
- First we are cleansed from our past sins with the Passover sacrifice of the Messiah.
- Then we must start putting sin out of our lives.
Putting leaven out of our homes is far easier than putting sin out of our live isn't it?
- God has us keep the Days of Unleavened Bread each year to remind us, we are not totally
free of sin in our lives yet. We have work to do.
We must be putting sin out of our lives each and every day.
- When will we finally have all sin removed from our lives?
- 1 John 5:18
- John 3:5-8
- When we are born spirit beings, we will be free of sin FOREVER!
- In the future, the Messiah will complete his job and ALL sin will be removed
from the world. It starts with the Firstfruits, but it will eventually spread to the entire world.
- Revelation 21:1-8
- Remember, the wages of sin is death. So if there is no more death, there can be no more sin.
We will be spirit beings that can never sin again and the problems of today will be no more.
No more tears, no more suffering and no more sorrow. The Father will be our God and we will be his
children and he will dwell among us FOREVER! May God hasten that day.
